In the period between 29 May-7 June 2014, a Romanian delegation headed by H.E. Professor Dr. Anton Caragea, Director of Institute of International Relations and Economic Cooperation of Romania was invited for an official visit to the Republic of Zimbabwe.
The visit was destined to restart the bilateral relation between Romania and the Republic of Zimbabwe and the southern region of Africa, a region in full economic development and with a long tradition of partnership with our country.

During the visit Professor Dr. Anton Caragea was welcomed by H.E. President of Republic of Zimbabwe-Robert Gabriel Mugabe who stated that: is exuding with love and gratitude for the visit of Professor Dr. Anton Caragea.
President Robert Mugabe express his gratitude for Professor Dr. Anton Caragea continuous support in promoting Zimbabwe integration in international tourism arena and stated than: when others where plotting to punish us you think at rewarding us and make us friends. From the profundity of our heart: Tank you Professor !
Professor Dr. Anton Caragea at his turn praised president Mugabe stating that: the world did not forget the ten years spent in the dungeons of the colonial rule, the world did not forget the 20 years of revolutionary activity at the risk of the life and personal peace, spent in the opposition to the absurd regime of apartheid and segregation of Old time Rhodesia.
As we do not forget the word of reconciliation spoken after this years of struggle, ten years before Nelson Mandela similar example: “If yesterday I fought you as an enemy, today you have become a friend,” “If yesterday you hated me, today you cannot avoid the love that binds me to you.”
We will never forget that 35 years ago from Harare you have called all nations of Africa to wake up from the long colonial sleep to a new and rich life of fulfillment`s.
Your name is and will be forever inscribed for me and for all the honest people of the world along the names of the fathers of free Africa:Kwame Nkrumah, Julius Nyerere, Jomo Kenyatta etc. as a giant of liberation and freedom fight in Africa and the world.

During the discussion, foreign policy cooperation, opening of honorary consulate and economic cooperation councils as well as economic and investment opportunities where tabled offering opportunity for Romania to take part in the business boom and bonanza of southern region of Africa and specially the Republic of Zimbabwe buoyant economic environment.
The Romanian delegation enjoyed a sophisticated cultural program with visit to the History Museum of Harare, National Heroes Acre and to the wonderful UNESCO heritage site of Great Zimbabwe-the largest African palatial complex dating from XII century and covering 700 hectares and a chance to discover the world greatest cascade: Victoria waterfall.
In sign of honor Professor Dr. Anton Caragea occupied the Winston Churchill apartment in the famous Victorian hotel of Victoria Falls.
The high level visit, the first after a 25 year hiatus in bilateral relation offered to the parties the opportunity to table concrete cultural, tourism and cooperation projects and to highlight the bilateral support for the development of the social and political cooperation.
The Republic of Zimbabwe becomes now the main political and strategic partner in the region of southern Africa, offering innumerable opportunities for developing friendly ties.

OUTSTANDING DIPLOMATIC SUCCESS: THE CONFERENCE PLATFORM FOR PEACE AND SECURITY IN EUROPE AND ASIA
ROMANIAN SUPPORT FOR PRESIDENT NURSULTAN NAZARBAYEV INITIATIVE FOR PEACE IN XXI CENTURY
Romania had hosted, with an unprecedented success, the Conference in support of the PLATFORM FOR SECURITY AND COOPERATION IN EUROPE AND ASIA. The Bucharest Conference was the most important strategic and analytic conference in 2012, related to Europe-Asia relation.
Professor Dr. Anton Caragea offers the welcoming speech to Europe-Asia Conference.
The debate was held in the presence of the diplomatic corps accredited to Romania and of academic corps from Romania and Europe.
The main focus on the conference agenda was the analysis of the Kazakhstan Presidency global drive for peace, an initiative launched in September 2012 at the CICA Assembly (Conference for Confidence Building Measures in Central Asia) in Astana.

His Excellency Talgat Kaliyev, Kazakhstan Charge d`affairs took the floor presenting the main features of the PLATFORM FOR SECURITY AND COOPERATION IN EUROPE AND ASIA. The new organization will have as main pillars to insure stability and cooperation in Eurasia, to insure that collective action by way of consensus and diplomatic measures and to enforce the respect of international law principles.

His Excellency Kazakhstan Charge d`affairs -Talgat Kaliyev outlines the main features of the Platform for Security and Cooperation in Europe and Asia.
Professor Dr. Anton Caragea , Director of Institute of International Relations and Economic Cooperation of Romania, had based his key note speech on the admiration of Romanian and European academic and diplomatic community on the impressive achievements of Kazakhstan in international arena as such: relinquishing nuclear weapons arsenal, building a developed economy, creating a safe area in Central Asia and the successful chairmanship of prestigious organization as : Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe ( OSCE) and Organization of Islamic Conference.

In his allocution, the President of Romania-Kazakhstan Business Council had presented the economic interest of building such a PLATFORM FOR SECURITY AND COOPERATION IN EUROPE AND ASIA stating that only peace and global security, promised by Nazarbayev plan for XXI century, can insure the global prosperity and offer the medium for solving the global economic crisis.
The Director of European Diplomatic Academy, Professor Mircea Constantinescu had underlined on behalf of European diplomatic community that: ″President Nazarbayev proposal to create a PLATFORM FOR SECURITY AND COOPERATION IN EUROPE AND ASIA is extremely timely, and is also a present day chart of the global and regional situation and also a risk factors analysis, risk factors that are putting in danger the economic stability, peace and world security″.

A delegation from the Parliament of Iraq visited Romania between 18 and 20 June 2012.
The Iraqi delegation, headed by Mr. Mansour Abdulrazaq al Tameemi, representing the Commission for Regions and Governorships of Iraq Parliament held, on 19 June 2012, a meeting with professor dr. Anton Caragea, Director of Institute of International Relations and Economic Cooperation of Romania.

On 23 May 2012, Romania had hosted, in the splendid venue of Palace of Culture and Education, the Academic and Diplomatic Conference: ROMANIA-KAZAKHSTAN: 20 YEAR OF DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS. A STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP.

ROMANIAN-ALGERIAN DIALOGUE. THE VISIT OF MINISTER OF FOREIGN OF ALGERIA – MOURAD MEDELCI
Between 22-23 November 2011 was taking place the visit in Romania of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Algeria H.E. Mourad Medelci.
The visit, perfect realized by the efforts of Algerian Embassy staff in Romania, headed by the dedicated ambassador Habib Chawki Hamraoui, was an outstanding success in perfecting romanian-algerian dialogue and in reshaping the traditional friendship between Romania and Algeria.

The dens program of the visit included a productive dialogue with Romanian prime-minister Emil Boc , a meeting with Romanian minister of Foreign Affairs –Theodor Bachonski ,a dialogue with professor dr. Anton Caragea and the board of director`s of Institute of International Relations and Economic Cooperation of Romania ,attending the inauguration of the new premises of Algerian Embassy in Romania , the opening of Romania-Algeria Economic and Business Forum, attending a working launch with Mr. Emil Constantinescu , President of Romania ( 1996-2000) and prof.dr. Anton Caragea, Director of Institute of International Relations and Economic Cooperation of Romania.
At the Economic and Business Forum Romania-Algeria, the Institute of International Relations and Economic Cooperation of Romania had sent a 25 members strong economic delegation, headed by Professor Dr. Anton Caragea and representing investors and important economic firms from Romania with a combined economic powered over 400 millions euro`s.
The Romania-Algeria Economic and Business Forum was unanimously considered as an impressive success because is the first major economic forum between Romania and North Africa region held in the last 10 years and also the first successful romanian-arab economic forum held in the last decade.
Was also generally praised the invitation launched at the Romania-Algeria Economic and Business Forum by H.E. Mourad Medelci – Minister of Foreign Affairs of Algeria: “We wish to resume our bilateral relations, in a constructive spirit, and ground them on development and cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, civilian and military cooperation, cultural cooperation. (…) The financial situations of our country allow us to fund, from our country’s budget, a five-year program (2010-2014) worth 280 billion dollars. This context is favorable and I would like to stress that in the framework of this programme, Romanian firms have already proved their competence in fields like constructions, hydraulic infrastructure and education. Therefore there is real potential for development and cooperation between the two states,” said the head of the Algerian diplomacy.
After the Romania-Algeria Economic and Business Forum a dialogue was held between Minister of Foreign Affairs of Algeria- H.E. Mourad Medelci and Professor Dr. Anton Caragea, Director of Institute of International Relations and Economic Cooperation of Romania.
On the time of the discussion an honest assessment of the situation from Middle East and North Africa region was made and also a discussion about the ripple effects in the region had taken place. H.E. Minister Mourad Medelci had declared that the analyses of prof.dr.Anton Caragea over the events in the region are read, analyzed and highly appreciated in Alger and are given all the importance.
After the discussion, a launch honoring Romania-Algeria friendship, in the company of H.E. President of Romania Emil Constantinescu (1996-2000) and the architect of this successful visit, Algerian Ambassador Habib Chawki Hamraoui was held. Over 100 guests from cultural , academic and economy fields where present at the launch together with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Algeria- H.E. Mourad Medelci and Professor dr. Anton Caragea, Director of Institute of International Relations and Economic Cooperation of Romania.

Romanian relations with Central Asia are rapidly evolving in the last period. The month of March 2011 was witnessing extremely important events in the regional dynamics. The cultural relations between Romania and Turkmenistan had entered into new relations with the presence of the 5-the Romanian cultural delegation in Turkmenistan.

Under the leadership of Professor Dr. Anton Caragea, director of Institute of International Relations and Economic Cooperation of Romania, a Romanian academic delegation had marked the continuous development of the cultural cooperation between Romania and Turkmenistan. After 5 cultural delegation` s Romania has contributed with ideas and information’s to important academic events held in Turkmenistan under the President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov supervision such as: Oguznama International Conference , Ethnography Congress of Turkmenistan , International Congress of the 15 Anniversary of Turkmenistan Neutrality , Turkmenistan in the Epoch of New Revival and finally the International Congress dedicated to life and work of world renamed Turkmen poet: Nurmuhammet Andalip .
In the Romania-Turkmenistan dialogue was highly appreciated the Romanian scholars academic contribution in promoting the image and the prestige of Turkmenistan in the world based on the cultural and historical richness of the country. Prof.dr.Anton Caragea has held discussion with the President of Uzbekistan Academy reaching an agreement and a calendar of academic exchange after the new Uzbekistan Embassy will be opened in Romania. The President of Uzbekistan Academy has addressed warm appreciation to Professor Anton Caragea on his support in opening the Uzbekistan new Embassy in Romanian and for promoting Uzbekistan image in Romania.

Finally Professor Anton Caragea and Romanian delegation visited the world heritage UNESCO site of Konya Urghenche where they participated at the festivity dedicated to the great Turkmen poet Nurmuhammet Andalip works and visited the world renowned monuments of Sultan Tekesh, Sultan Ahmad and famous Sufi philosopher Nedjmedin Kubra.

The cultural relations between Romania and Turkmenistan had become a model in the Central Asian region proving that between two countries of rich cultural legacy and historical wealth the cultural cooperation can sustained political relations based on cultural and historical common understanding.

VISIT OF ROMANIAN DELEGATION TO KOREA
Between 23 of September and 5 of October 2010 in the framework of Next Generation Leaders Visit Korea Program, Professor Anton Caragea, director of Institute of International Relations and Economic Cooperation of Romania was invited for an official information visit in the Republic of Korea. The invitation was made by Dr. Soogil Young, Chairman of the Presidential Commission, President of National Strategy Institute, and Chairman of Korean National Committee for Pacific Economic Cooperation. The visit included a complex program of political, economic and cultural visits destined to offer to Professor Anton Caragea a complete image of today situation in Korea and also a chance to meeting key politic and economic leaders interested in cooperation with Romania. The visit included dialogue and briefings at Korea Energy Economics Institute , Seoul Digital Media City , Presidential Committee on Seoul G20 Summit , Korea Creative Energy Content, Presidential Council on National Branding , Korean Parliament Foreign Policy Committee ,Electronic Telecommunication Research Institute, Daedeok Innopolis , Korean Institute of Science and Technology , Hyundai Heavy Industries .
In light of his successful contribution to Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE- Bucharest Conference 2010) Professor Anton Caragea was asked to deliver a key note speech for Presidential Committee on Seoul G20 Summit to explain how it created a diplomatic success and what lesson could be learned for G20 Summit. Another speech was held at Presidential Council for National Branding where Professor Anton Caragea highlighted his creation: Romanian Strategy for National Branding.
The program included also extensive traveling to Korea from Seoul to Ulsan, Bulguska , Seokguram Grotto , Chumsung Dae and a variety of art, entertainment spectacles destined to offer to Professor Anton Caragea an image of historic and cultural treasures of Korea.
