Between 18 and 19 September 2012 the visit of an important ministerial and business people delegation headed by H.E. Bernard G. Dompok, Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities of Malaysia had taken place.

The Malaysian delegation had attended the works of Conference and Seminary of Palm Oil, organized by the Palm Oil Council of Malaysia with the assistance of Malaysian Embassy to Romania and under the supervision of H.E. Dato`Nik Mustafa Kamal Nik Ahmad, Ambassador of Malaysia to Romania.
Concluding the conference H.E. Bernard G. Dompok , Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities of Malaysia, had attended a working dinner with a delegation of Institute of international Relations and Economic Cooperation of Romania headed by professor dr.Anton Caragea and hosted by Malaysian Ambassador Dato`Nik Mustafa Kamal Nik Ahmad.
The visit of Malaysia ministerial and business community delegation was considered as a success and also the initiatives of organizing the first ever Romanian-Malaysia Conference on Palm Oil was appraised, the enthusiastical response of the Romanian business community and markets will insure a future success, concluded professor dr. Anton Caragea.
Also the skilful exertions of Malaysian Ambassador H.E. Dato`Nik Mustafa Kamal Nik Ahmad are recognized and appreciated by the Romanian side, not many ambassadors have the opportunity to organize such an impressive event.
Ambassador Dato`Nik Mustafa Kamal Nik Ahmad expressed his gratitude for this kind remarks by professor dr. Anton Caragea and stated his desire to keep the favorable momentum created by this visits.

The working dinner was also the venue for discussing statistics and business opportunities for Romanian market and assessing the necessity of palm oil for our industry and also created the favorable environment for a constructive dialogue between H.E. Bernard G. Dompok, Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities of Malaysia and Professor Dr. Anton Caragea.
Between 10-12 September 2012 an Iraqi ministerial delegation headed by H.E. Hadi al-Amiri, Minister of Transport had made an official visit to Romania.

The visit was part of Iraqi Embassy to Romania sustained efforts to develop the economic cooperation between Romania and Iraq.
During the visit, the Iraqi delegation held talks at the Minister of Transportation of Romania , visited the Mangalia Shipyard and railways material producers factory`s and attended an working dinner with officials from Institute of International Relations and Economic Cooperation of Romania lead by professor dr. Anton Caragea and a delegation of Ministry of Transportation of Romania.
The working dinner was held in an amicable and open atmosphere, and the subjects varied from the opportunities offered by the transport industries of Romania to Iraqi costumers to Romanian economy capacity to support the development of infrastructure programs in Iraq.
Professor Anton Caragea, Director of Institute of International Relations and Economic Cooperation had warmly congratulated the Minister of Transport of Iraq for his endeavors and especially for the successful completion of Middle Euphrates Airport Project.
Also the visit to Romania of an important ministerial delegation and the substantive talks held with Romanian officials are creating the bases for an ample development of economic relations between the two countries.
In this respect, the constant exertions of H.E. Mohammed Saeed Al-Shakarchi, Ambassador of Iraq must be welcomed and appreciated by the Romanian side, concluded professor Anton Caragea.
The successful Iraqi ministerial delegation visit was another step in recreating the strong economic bonds that once united Iraq and Romania.
